Lace Cookies

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup vegetable shortening

1/2 cup corn syrup

2/3 cup finely packed brown sugar

1 cup sifted flour

1 cup finely chopped nuts

1 cup chocolate bits


Place butter, syrup and sugar in pan and bring to boil. Remove at once. Add flour and nuts.

Drop cooled dough by rounded tsp. onto greased baking sheet or aluminum foil (6 per sheet).

Bake at 325º for 8-10 minutes.

Cool several minutes & peel off foil.

Melt chocolate bits over double boiler

and brush over cookies
